Blackout
i was going to not follow the usual motions of what i thought of the blackout but.. i guess some personal investment is in order right?
I think i have to agree with what
kevin said about technology pushing us apart. my mom and i haven't gone for a walk in AGES.. and we only went out for a walk coz the power was out. I have to say, that although i didn't much like the heat.. it was nice to go out for a walk :) and be in danger of all the potential mosquito bites (no causualities tho).
I know this whole blackout thing is a real big deal but i felt quite detached from it.. the power came back on in the middle of the night and the area i lived in was fully operational and back to normal. After going to the supermarket and seeing people come from scarborough and newmarket just to get coffee and stock up on supplies, i really felt blessed to live in markham.. never having to worry.. with all the conveniences.. it is quite nice here no? :)
ahh.. now onto the politics bandwagon.. go markham..!! apparently, the reason for our fast recovery was because markham has its own emergency council or something.. they went into action and got the job done very well.. go markham officials..!!

and why boo? because..!! in my opinion, him rejecting mel lastman's request for secure electricity was just ignorant..!! lastman made the point that the ttc would not run unless electricity was guaranteed.. while eves said that he could not guarantee electricity to one community and not the others.. HELLOOOOO.. you cant make everyone happy! and by rendering the ttc not operating.. he's making it hard for people to go and do their jobs.. making toronto (and ontario) lose even MORE money.. just not smart is he? you dont see new york having a problem with putting their subway back to working order.. but no.. eves thinks he's being fair to everyone.. and winning back some more votes.
NUH UH.. NO WAY.. this once disinterested-in-politics girl will be exercising her right at the poles to NOT re elect ernie eves.. that's right.. i hope you
